DENTAL X-RAYS

Are Dental X-Rays Safe?

Dental X-rays (radiographs) account for less than 2.5% of the radiation received in comparison to medical X-rays. Current digital radiographic equipment allows the use of lower doses of radiation to create clear radiographic images – making dental X-Rays clearer and safer than ever.

Because they are digital, this lowers the amount of radiation as well as the time you are exposed to radiation. This makes the risk of potentially harmful effects from dental X-rays very small. Precautions used to limit exposure
include a leaded apron and a leaded thyroid collar.
